International Civil Rights Advocate: Constitutional Attorney John W. Whitehead to speak at the Clearwater Candlelight Vigil in memory of Gabriel Myers and the Right to Informed Consent
John Whitehead is an attorney and author who has written, debated and practiced widely in the area of constitutional law and human rights. Widely recognized as one of the nation’s most vocal and involved civil liberties attorneys, Whitehead’s approach to civil liberties issues has earned him numerous accolades and accomplishments.
Sheriff Jim Coats’ law enforcement career has been with the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office for 38 years and he served at all command levels until elected Sheriff in 2004 and re-elected in 2008.
For the past 17 years, Sheriff Coats has served on the Executive Board of Directors of the Boys and Girls Clubs and currently serves on the: Executive Board of Directors of the Big Brothers Big Sisters of Pinellas County; Clothes to Kids; Pinellas County Police Athletic League (PAL); and Sheriff’s Citizens Academy Alumni Association.
