Parental Rights Open House

Join us to bring awareness and resources to parents and professionals about parental rights.
How can a parent exert those rights as it relates to the health, mental health, education and upbringing of their child?
Hear from and interact with a series of advocates on the subject of parents’ rights.

During the 2021 legislative session, Florida lawmakers passed two bills that greatly increased the protection of children and parental rights – the School Safety Bill and the Parents’ Bill of Rights.
In order to ensure that parents know their rights, CCHR Florida is co-hosting this complimentary Open House .
The better parents know their rights, the better they can guide the education, health and mental health of their children.
LEARNING OBJECTIVES:
1. To understand some of the basic rights parents have in Florida.
2. To learn the process of how a child can be Baker Acted from school and what a parent can do to better protect them.
3. To review options parents have concerning the health and mental health of their child.
