DESCRIPTION:Professionals\, parents and advocates are invited to a panel discussion about parental consent and mental health rights of children. \n\nJoin us to bring awareness\, information\, and resources to parents and professionals.\n\nWhat are parental rights and how can a parent exert them as it relates to the mental health of their child?\n\nHear from and interact with different professionals and advocates on the subject of parental consent.\n\nWHEN: Tuesday May 30th from 2:00pm – 3:30pm\n\nVENUE: The event will take place in the Chapel at the Church of Scientology Tampa: 1300 E 8th Avenue\, Tampa FL 33605. This facility is also known as Ybor Square\, the Oldest and largest Cigar Factory in Florida.\nThis forum is designed to be a platform for community advocates\, professionals and citizens concerned with parental consent and mental health human rights abuses.\n\nWe will bring up issues related to parental consent\, the use of invasive psychiatric treatment of adult patients and minors. We want to spark discussions\, bring about actions in order to get positive results. Everyone should be able to find new resources\, share similar experiences and eventually advocate.\n\nLEARNING OBJECTIVES:\n\n1. To understand some of the basic rights parents have in Florida.\n2. To learn about the Baker Act and how minors can be affected by this process.\n3.
